Page Academy recently hosted Bloom with Page Academy, a community event dedicated to rebuilding and expanding the school’s student garden.

The project brought together families, community partners and students to create a revitalized outdoor learning space that will support hands-on education across multiple grade levels.

Planning for the garden took several weeks, with coordination between school leadership, the Wilshire Rotary Club and community partners. The goal was to refresh the garden so it could better serve students as a space for learning about sustainability, nutrition, science and environmental stewardship.

Page families participated in the event with several members of the Wilshire Rotary Club, whose partnership supported the project. Community generosity played a major role in making the garden possible. Anawalt Lumber donated gardening materials, and additional supplies and support came from family donations and volunteers from the Page community.

Throughout the day, volunteers worked together to install six new garden planters, replacing older garden bins and preparing the space for future planting. Participants removed soil, dismantled old structures, assembled the new planter boxes and refilled them with fresh soil.

The event welcomed families and students of all ages. Children and students also participated in garden-themed crafts, allowing younger children to take part in the experience while volunteers worked in the garden area. Lunch was provided, creating a time for families and community members to gather, connect and celebrate the project together.

The newly installed planters will soon be filled with fruit, vegetables and herbs grown and maintained by students as part of their learning experience. The garden will serve multiple grade levels, giving students opportunities to explore plant biology, nutrition, sustainability and responsibility through hands-on experiences.
