Lace up those sneakers: Nike announced it plans to bring its Nike After Dark Tour back to Los Angeles later this year, a half-marathon the brand said is “built for women.”
As its name hints, the After Dark Tour is a nighttime race. It’s set to hit LA in fall 2026; Nike expects to release details soon on the race date, registration, the course location, and official rules.
In a press release, Nike said its After Dark Tour is a women-focused, “electrifying nighttime experience” designed to “blend sport, culture and community.”
“The tour offers women everywhere the opportunity to push new limits and celebrate their collective power and potential,” Nike explained.
In addition to Los Angeles, Nike After Dark 2026 will be held in six other major cities across the world: Shanghai, Sydney, Mexico City, London, Manila and Mumbai. Some will be 10K races, and others half-marathons.
Nike said the tour — meant to create “a space where women feel seen, supported and motivated” — is part of the brand’s ongoing mission to invite more women of all backgrounds and abilities to enjoy the sport of running.
According to Nike, the company hosted a series of women’s races in major global cities from 2005 to 2015. The After Dark Tour, which debuted in 2025, is an extension of those efforts.
Nike said last year’s inaugural event drew more than 50,000 women to seven races across five continents, and one in three participants were first-time racers.
The After Dark Tour came to Los Angeles in 2025, too, and took place at SoFi Stadium. The LA Times reported that the starting line featured appearances by Olympians Jordan Chiles and Anna Cockrell, and the course included DJs, live music, a tunnel with bubble machines, and cheering spectators. The finish line featured a 30-minute concert from Grammy Award-winning rapper Doechii.
Nike said this year’s event will feature a high-energy course and post-race celebrations, and showcase Nike’s latest running, training, and sportswear products.
As far as training for the race, Nike’s website said runners can access the official Nike After Dark training plans via the Nike Run Club (NRC) app. The plans include speed runs, long runs, and audio-guided options. For a half-marathon, the training plan spans 14 weeks.
