The North Highlands resident hit the $447,810 progressive jackpot with a seven-card straight flush on a $2 side bet, the casino said in a news release Friday.

“Moments like this are exactly why we say winners are made here,” said Kari Stout-Smith, general manager and chief operating officer of Cache Creek Casino Resort.

“We love celebrating these incredible jackpots with our guests,” Stout-Smith said. “It’s always thrilling to see someone walk away with a life-changing win, and it reinforces the excitement that makes Cache Creek Casino Resort such a special place to play.”

Cache Creek Casino Resort, owned by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, is about a 45-mile drive northwest from Sacramento, near Esparto. The casino, opened in 2004, features more than 2,700 slot machines and 120 table games.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
