SAN DIEGO— Tara Mihaljevic battled in a tight tiebreaking set to lead the San José State women’s tennis team (6-5, 0-2 MW) in a 4-0 loss against San Diego State (10-1, 2-0 MW) on Sunday morning from the Aztec Tennis Center.
The Spartans dropped the doubles point, with losses on courts one and two.
Duru Durgun and Emma Fantousis fell short 6-3.
Soledad Fayos Capilla and Cristina Mateos Losada dropped their match 6-1.
Fayos Capilla lost her singles match, 6-1, 6-3.
Mihaljevic fell short in a tight matchup after a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
Camila Celis was bested by her opponent, 6-2, 6-2.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will return home and face Rhode Island for a midweek non-conference matchup on Wednesday, March 18, at noon from the Spartan Tennis Complex.
