ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — Two California Highway Patrol officers are recovering after a crash involving a wrong-way driver in Anaheim.
CHP says a call came in shortly after 2 a.m. reporting a wrong-way driver on the eastbound 91 Freeway. At about 2:24 a.m., there was a crash between a CHP vehicle and the driver at Gene Autry Way off the northbound 5 freeway in Anaheim.
Video from the scene shows beer cans on top of the car involved. CHP is investigating the cause of the crash and if alcohol was involved.
CHP said the two officers were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The driver involved was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
