HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Two men were sentenced to prison for abducting and sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman who was walking in Huntington Beach on June 6.
Long Beach residents Florentino Contreras Bacilio, 52, and Angel Lopezevaristo, 34, kidnapped the woman just before midnight on June 6, 2021, prosecutors said.
According to prosecutors, the pair spotted the woman walking home while talking to someone on the phone.
The two men grabbed the woman and held her hostage in the car, gagging her, choking her and sexually assaulting her, according to Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer.
At one point, Spitzer said, the woman lost consciousness during the attack.
Once she regained consciousness, prosecutors said she attempting to fight back against her captors.
She was eventually thrown out of the car along Pacific Coast Highway, just south of Warner Avenue.
The two men were later tracked down by detectives and arrested on June 10, 2021, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
On Nov. 22, 2024, Lopezevaristo pleaded guilty to kidnapping to commit a sexual assault, forcible rape and sexual penetration by foreign object with sentencing enhancements for kidnapping to commit a sex offense and inflicting great bodily injury in a sex offense, the O.C. Register reported.
He was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
On Feb. 23, 2026, after a two-week trial, Bacilio was found guilty of kidnapping to commit a sex offense and two counts of attempted sexual penetration by foreign object and force. On March 13, 2026, he was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
