Bert Kreischer is happy to be alive after his tour bus spontaneously burst into flames.
The comedian posted a photo of the ruined bus on Instagram with the caption, “We are all safe but my bus is gone – God works in mysterious ways.” He later told People the full story, explaining that after a show in North Dakota, the tour bus’ front right tire blew out on Interstate 94, forcing everyone to deboard. “It was a fluke accident,” he said. “We hit nothing, and it was no fault of the driver’s. We waited outside for a couple hours.”

Eventually, the bus driver who stayed behind heard a pop come from the roof. “Within a matter of seconds, the bus was filled with smoke,” Kreischer said. Luckily, the bus driver was able to exit the bus before it went up in flames.
Kreischer and his team lost many of their belongings in the bus fire, but Kreischer was still able to smile through the difficult time. He posted a photo on his Instagram story posing outside of a Dick’s Sporting Goods store, where the group went to buy new clothes, captioning the photo, “My current & only outfit.”

“Me, the other comedians, my assistant and my trainer are all very lucky,” he told People. “The Lord works in mysterious ways. As annoyed as we were to blow out a tire on a highway in a snowstorm in the middle of nowhere, we are all counting our blessings today that we weren’t on the bus when the fire broke out.”

Kreischer’s Netflix show, “Free Bert,” was recently renewed for season two. Season one followed the often-shirtless comedian “in uncharted territory when his daughters are accepted to an elite Beverly Hills private school. When his unbridled antics turn his family into outcasts, he decides to ‘put on a shirt’ and stifle his true nature to better fit in,” per a press release. The streamer has yet to release a plot synopsis or release date for season two, but season one is available to watch on Netflix.
