SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is investigating an explosion of unknown origin on 956 Howe Avenue at 7:17 p.m.
The fire, initially suspected to have been caused by fireworks, resulted in damage within the apartment building, including to windows, cabinets and the ceiling. A woman, who was found inside, sustained a moderate burn injury to her hand and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An infant, who was also found at the scene, was also transported as a safety measure.
The explosion is currently being investigated by The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, PG&E and the Sacramento County Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team. There was no report of fire at the scene.
