FoothillsThe Foothills are expected to be a little wetter compared to the Valley. There will be on-and-off light rain and drizzle both Saturday and Sunday. Both days will be overcast with highs near 60 degrees.Rain totals will range between .20 and .50 inches for areas north of Highway 50. Areas south will see lesser amounts. SierraSierra conditions will be wet and windy for much of the weekend. A Wind Advisory is in effect Saturday. Wind gusts could reach 45 mph around the Lake Tahoe area. Gusts in Nevada could top 60 mph. Sunday’s winds will be less intense, but it’ll still be a brisk day.The mountains will see a chilly rain Saturday and Sunday with some brief pauses. Blue Canyon could see over an inch of rain between Saturday and Sunday. Truckee and South Lake Tahoe could see up to .50 inches.The snow level is generally forecast to stay above the passes, so chain controls are not expected, but travelers should be ready for cold and rainy conditions.
