A popular California fast-food restaurant is returning to Michigan for the first time in decades.
San Diego-based Jack in the Box will open a new restaurant sometime in May at 2588 Capital Ave. SW. in Battle Creek, according to its website.
It will be Michigan’s first Jack in the Box restaurant in 45 years. The popular fast-food joint did have many locations in the Detroit area in the 1970s.
Restaurant officials said they also plan to open restaurants in Calhoun, Kalamazoo and Kent counties. They have not released additional details on those locations.
Jack in the Box was founded in California in 1951. They are best known for their iconic menu that features customer favorites like burgers, tacos, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, breakfast, and late-night snacking options.
The new locations will offer dine-in, drive-thru, and mobile ordering options and will be open 24 hours per day.
The chain currently has 2,100 locations across 24 states, according to its website.
