The Clovis Police Department cited 16 drivers and arrested one for driving under the influence during a high-visibility traffic enforcement operation on St. Patrick’s Day.

The enforcement detail took place Tuesday, targeting unsafe driving behaviors, the Clovis Police Department said in a statement. Officials said the citations were issued for various moving violations.

Police thanked the community for celebrating responsibly and encouraging the use of designated sober drivers to help keep roadways safe.

The operation was funded through a grant from the California Highway Patrol’s Cannabis Tax Grant Program.
