WILLOWBROOK – A 34-year-old man was killed and a 7-year-old child was injured Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash in the unincorporated Willowbrook neighborhood of Los Angeles County area near Watts.
The crash was reported at 5:12 a.m. on Imperial Highway at Compton Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The vehicle hit the center divider, according to an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division.
He said the crash location was on the Wilmington Avenue overpass and the vehicle was westbound on Imperial when it struck the divider.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the child, reported to be a girl, was rushed to a hospital, the officer said.
An update on the child’s condition was not immediately available.
