If a typical order at a restaurant still leaves you hungry for more, then it sounds like you’re an all-you-can-eat buffet kind of person.
These are the places were diners can grab a plate, stroll through a selection of dishes and load up on whatever looks good and then come back for more until you can’t eat anymore. So if you’re a big eater, or just like to pick and choose your own food, here are five buffets worth trying in the Los Angeles area.
Cafe Sierra

If seafood is all you want to see and eat, then sail into Cafe Sierra’s all-you-can-eat seafood buffet in Los Angeles. The menu includes king crab legs, whole lobsters, sushi, crab legs, oysters and shrimp. They do cater to land lovers too though with options like prime rib, steaks and pork belly. The buffet is open for dinner on Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m. and for brunch on the weekends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Golden Corral is pretty much the veteran rock star of buffet spots with locations all over the country and an all-you-can-eat menu that serves pretty much any food you can think of. The lineup includes steaks, shrimp, fried chicken, soups, breakfast dishes, salads and more. If you’re not sure what you want to eat, this is the place to come and eat.

You better come hungry and wear some sweats because your waistline will never be the same after eating at this cavernous Simi Valley staple. The buffet options at this Chinese and Japanese restaurant are huge. How huge? Well there are about 150 dishes on the buffet trays that line the side wall. The options include things like noodles, sushi, crab Legs, baked oyster, shrimp, scallops — there’s even a bacon wrapped chicken. But don’t completely fill up on all that because there are also dessert offerings, like gelato, cheesecake and a chocolate fountain where you can dip fruit into the chocolate.

Asia meets America at this Montebello buffet with a hefty menu that offers all sorts of dishes, from seafood to steaks. Some of the items on the buffet include seafood like steamed crab legs, grilled shrimp, and raw oysters as well as sushi and Asian fare like Orange Chicken, beef and broccoli, fried rice and lo mein. On the American comfort food side there’s BBQ ribs, mac and cheese, roast beef, ham and grilled fish.

If you have a big appetite but don’t want to feel terrible about eating so much, then this restaurant is the place for you. Located in Little Ethiopia on Fairfax Avenue, Rahel’s has been serving Ethiopian food for 25 years and on the weekends the restaurant offers an all you can eat buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It includes options like a mixed a vegetable stew, red lentils, chick peas, a potato stew, collar greens and more. It’s all slow cooked in spiced sauces and served with injeri bread.
