The Washington Huskies are one of five teams remaining in the hunt for their top target in the 2027 class along the defensive line, four-star defensive tackle Jon Ioane.
Listed at 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, the product of Tustin High School, who is ranked as the No. 183 overall prospect and No. 9 athlete by 247Sports, has narrowed his list of 24 offers down to California, Penn State, Stanford, and UCLA, alongside the Huskies.
He’s also set four official visits, beginning with the Golden Bears on May 29, before he heads to Montlake on June 5, Penn State on June 12, and finishes things off with the Bruins on June 19. However, he may not wind up taking all of those trips.
According to multiple reports, Ioane is nearing a decision and could announce his commitment by the end of March. In that department, the Huskies appear to hold a significant lead.
Defensive line coach Jason Kaufusi was the first college coach to offer Ioane when he was in eighth grade, and the two have developed a very strong relationship. That relationship has resulted in several crystal balls from both 247Sports and On3 for Ioane to announce a pledge to the Huskies.

The explosive defensive tackle, who plays on both sides of the line at Tustin and has even taken some snaps at quarterback, has been on campus in Seattle for a pair of unofficial visits this year, including a trip in early March for Washington’s Junior Day festivities. He’s also a perfect fit for the interior of defensive coordinator Ryan Walters’ scheme.
“Tends to win with his overall activity in tight quarters, as he has the foot quickness and agility to redirect and slide laterally,” 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins wrote in his evaluation. “Absorbs contact with impressive balance…Will uproot blocks with a powerful and limber upper half…Should be viewed as a pesky three-technique that can help create negative plays with his strength, effort, and run-game awareness.”
If he were to choose the Huskies, Ioane would be Washington’s second defensive line pledge in the 2027 class, where he’d join three-star Matamatagi Uiagalelei.
