Nine San Diego County communities reported record high temperatures Wednesday as the region’s long heat wave continued and seasonal weather won’t broadly return until early next week, the National Weather Service says.

The hot weather is expected to peak on Thursday and Friday, especially east of Interstate 15.

Borrego Springs hit 102, five degrees higher than the record for March 18, set in 1972.

Escondido reached 96, seven degrees higher than the record set in 1997.

Campo reached 96, seven degrees higher than the record set in 2004.

Alpine hit 93, two degrees higher than the record set in 1991.

Ramona reached 92, three degrees higher than record set in 1997.

Vista hit 90, four degrees higher than record set in 1978.

San Diego International Airport reached 85, three degrees higher than record set in 1960.

Lake Cuyamaca reachd 84, eight degrees higher than record set in 2007.

Palomar Mountain hit 82, eight degrees higher than record set in 2004.
