OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The suspect involved in the barricaded gunman situation in Oakland County has been arrested.
Police said no injuries were reported and the area has been secured, though a heavy law enforcement presence is expected to remain until the scene is fully cleared.
The incident began earlier Thursday, March 19, when officers were serving a search warrant at a home on Raven Road near Quarton Road between Franklin and Inkster roads.
Police said the suspect, who had an active felony warrant, barricaded himself inside the residence.
Officials believed the man was alone and described the situation as isolated.
Officers made verbal contact with the suspect during the standoff, which prompted a large response, including Oakland County SWAT.
Nearby residents were asked to stay indoors as a precaution.
South Hills Middle School was used as a staging area for emergency responders during the incident.
Officials confirmed there was no threat to the school or its students.
The situation has since been resolved with the suspect in custody.
