Tonight is the newly annual Spring Breakout game that each organization participates in that features a team of each club’s top prospects facing off against each other. The event was created in 2024 and that season the Cincinnati Reds played in two games, as someone must do each spring with an odd number of teams in the Cactus League. They would split the games that spring. Last year they would pick up a win over the Brewers team, watching Sal Stewart drive in three runs in the win. Cam Collier has the only home run for the organization in their three games as he slugged a 2-run homer in the first ever Spring Breakout game back in 2024.

The game tonight will be played  at Scottsdale Stadium and be a road game for the Reds. First pitch is scheduled for 9:05pm ET. You will be able to watch this game. If you want to stream it, it will be free on both MLB.com and MLB.tv. The game is also going to be available on MLB Network.

News and Notes

Drafted last season out of high school, Steele Hall (1st round) and Aaron Watson (2nd round) did not play in official games after the draft and have yet to make their official pro debut. Jirvin Morillo and Adolfo Sanchez spent their 2025 seasons in the Dominican Summer League and have not yet made their US pro debut.

Alfredo Duno, Carlos Jorge (pictured above), and Hector Rodriguez have each played in the previous three Spring Breakout games with the Reds. All three are in the starting lineup tonight to make it the first four.

San Francisco Giants shortstop Luis Hernandez is just 17-years-old. He signed out of Venezuela in January for $5,000,000 – the most of any player signed in the international signing period in 2026. He has never played in a minor league game and the Giants are so confident in his abilities they are skipping him over the Dominican Summer League and have brought him straight to the US.
