Person shot after attempting to break into Sacramento County home, sheriff’s office says

A person was shot after trying to break into a home in Rancho Cordova on Thursday night, officials said. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said a person attempted to force their way inside a residence in the 2900 block of Hunt Drive around 9:15 p.m. The homeowner called 911 after repeatedly asking that person to leave. According to the sheriff’s office, the homeowner shot the suspect after they broke a window to gain entry into the home. Deputies responded to the scene, and the suspect was taken to a nearby hospital. They are expected to survive. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said a person attempted to force their way inside a residence in the 2900 block of Hunt Drive around 9:15 p.m. The homeowner called 911 after repeatedly asking that person to leave.
