33-Year-Old Oakland Man Killed in Early Morning Oakland Crash

Oakland, CA (March 18, 2026) — 33-year-old Ismael Merino-Osorio of Oakland lost his life early Tuesday morning following a traffic collision in East Oakland.

Authorities say that Merino-Osorio was driving a Honda sedan north on 68th Avenue around 2:13 a.m. when his vehicle collided with a Cadillac CTS traveling east on Bancroft Avenue.

Emergency responders pronounced Merino-Osorio dead at the scene.

The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured and remained at the location. Investigators have not yet determined whether impairment played a role in the crash.
