The developers of the $5-billion OC Vibe complex in Anaheim have unveiled progress pictures and fresh renderings of the project’s concert hall.

The as-yet unnamed venue, set to open in 2027, will have capacity for 5,000 spectators across three tiers of seating when completed. Located next to the Honda Center, which is in the midst of its own $1-billion revamp, the concert hall is expected to host concerts, comedy shows, television programs, award shows, and other events.

“Artists won’t just play at OC Vibe, they’ll grow here,” said OC Vibe senior vice president Eric Bresler in a news release. “With the addition of the concert hall, we’re creating a rare ecosystem where an artist can move from an intimate club to a mid-size room to a major arena, all within one connected campus in the heart of Orange County, designed to support creative production and long-term touring relationships.”

The arena and the new concert hall will be accompanied by the Golden Bear, a smaller venue with capacity for 300 spectators that is set to open in 2029.

Populous is designing the concert hall, will be highlighted on its exterior by a 62-foot-tall art installation consisting of steel and louvered metal panels known as “the Stretto.” The structure will stand above a cafe at ground level.

The OC Vibe development, which is being financed by the Samueli family, will eventually feature up to 1,500 homes, 20 acres of public open space, two hotels, and up to 1.1 million square feet of offices across 100 acres of land. The initial phases of the project are set to open in 2027.
