Japanese clothing company Uniqlo just became a massive sponsor of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the historic Dodger Stadium might soon see a name change.

In mid-March, the news was announced that the Tokyo-based brand had become the official field presenting partner. According to Fox 11, “the agreement designates Uniqlo as the top sponsor for the Dodgers, granting the clothing brand exclusive marketing and promotional perks.” Some sources say the success of the Dodgers’ star player Shohei Ohtani played a part in the sponsorship.

Though nothing has been confirmed yet, rumor has it that the field will be renamed: Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium.

A newly constructed sign has already gone up in center field and is expected to be unveiled in the next week, likely before March 26’s Opening Day. An official announcement is expected soon.

What do you think of the potential name change?
