SAFE Credit Union is expanding to Granite Bay as the financial corporation opens its newest branch Friday afternoon.

The new branch is located at 4100 Douglas Blvd. in Sierra Oaks Plaza Center. The new bank will have transaction pods instead of typical standard windows, according to a news release from SAFE Credit Union. It will also feature a 40-seat in-branch community room.

The community room, known as the Financial Freedom Hub, will host financial education workshops and other gatherings. Businesses and community organizations will be able to book the room. It also features artwork from art students at Sierra College, according to a news release.

Janine Southwick, the vice president of SAFE Credit Union, said the branch is designed to stand out among the other branches, with advanced technology. The bank will have walk-up ATMs, safe deposit boxes, night deposit services, coin machines and wire transfer services.

“With technology at our members’ fingertips they are also welcome to come in and find places to connect, learn and use tools that allow them to take control of their financial lives with confidence and plan for what’s next in their financial journey,” Southwick said.

The new branch is the 18th in the Sacramento area. It will also neighbor several businesses in Sierra Oaks Plaza, including Nugget Markets, Chick fil-A, La Bou and Habit Burger.

SAFE Credit’s Granite Bay Branch will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
