The Montana State women’s basketball team won their first postseason game in program history on Sunday after beating San Francisco 69-53 in the second round of the WNIT.

MSU earned a first-round bye in the WNIT and out-bid San Francisco for the right to host the second-round matchup in Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, where the Bobcats are undefeated this season.

The Cats survived an early shooting lull and were brought to life by a first quarter buzzer-beating three-pointer courtesy of Taylee Chirrick, who led MSU with 15 points and 9 rebounds against the Dons.

Montana State will now await the winner of the Lamar/Portland matchup to determine their Super Sixteen opponent.
