After 2 weeks of striking, Twin Rivers educators announce they’re heading back to the classrooms.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Twin Rivers United Educators (TRUE) and Twin Rivers United School District (TRUSD) just reached a tentative agreement, bringing an end to the 12-day-long strike, according to TRUE.

This agreement includes 7% in raises over the course of two years, a $4,000 bonus, wage increases and ongoing fully paid family healthcare benefits.

“Our members stood strong for 12 days and fought for fully funded classrooms.  With these investments we’ve made important progress in ending the staffing crisis,” said TRUE President, Brittoni Ward. “This contract is a massive shift in how our district prioritizes students and classrooms.”

According to TRUE’s statement, this agreement prioritizes student success, improving special education classrooms and fixing critical staffing shortages within the district.

“Twin Rivers Unified School District is pleased to share that we have reached a tentative agreement with Twin Rivers United Educators (TRUE),” the district said in a statement. “This marks an important step forward and reflects the dedication and good-faith efforts of all parties involved throughout the negotiation process.”

Teachers are expected to return to classrooms Monday, March 23.

“While this agreement is not yet final and remains subject to ratification, it represents meaningful progress toward supporting our educators and maintaining a strong, stable learning environment for our students,” The district said. “We appreciate the patience, collaboration, and commitment shown by our staff, families, and community during this time.”
