SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A driver who killed a family of four in San Francisco’s West Portal neighborhood two years ago, according to a report from ABC7.

Mary Fong Lau, who is now 80 years old, pleaded no contest and was sentenced to six days in jail, two years’ probation and 200 hours of community service by a judge, according to the report.

The judge said he took Lau’s age into account when deciding on the sentence, according to the report.

Lau was driving at a high rate of speed when she crashed into a couple and their two kids as they were on the way to the San Francisco Zoo.

“There are no good outcomes for such an immense tragedy,” Seth Morris, Lau’s attorney, told ABC7. “Everyone who came to court felt the pain that is present in the community and from these families and we feel it- too.”
