Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing in Royal Oak

(ROPD, Oct. 25, 2025)

Royal Oak, MI – On Friday, October 24, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Royal Oak officers responded to a report of a man calling for help in the 4300 block of Sheridan Drive. Officers quickly arrived and encountered a 35-year-old female with blood on her hands, who was detained after a brief foot pursuit. Officers then entered the home and found an unresponsive 83-year-old male in the basement with multiple stab wounds.

Royal Oak Officers and Fire Department Paramedics attempted emergency medical care, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female suspect is known to the victim and the homeowner. The suspect was a guest in the home at the time of this incident. She is being held at the Royal Oak Police Department while Royal Oak Detectives continue their investigation and pending a review by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
