Fullerton has updated street sweeping signs to reflect a schedule in the Wednesday zone starting on March 18.
The Wednesday zone encompasses the eastern and western running streets of East Chapman Avenue, East Commonwealth Avenue, East Valencia Drive and East Orangethorpe Avenue.
Streets that run to the north and south in the Wednesday zone are South Harbor Boulevard, South Lemon Street, State College Boulevard and South Placentia Avenue.
Odd-numbered addresses will be swept on the first and third week of the month, while even-numbered addresses will be swept on the second and fourth week of the month. Residents living in a cul-de-sac should refer to posted signs in their neighborhood.
Those parked on the street during street sweeping will receive warning citations until April 8. Regular citations will resume on April 15.
This change comes after Tuesday-zone street sweeping ticketing began in December 2025, with citations issued for parking violations and the introduction of an early morning parking permit.
The Tuesday street sweeping zone encompasses Brea Boulevard, Associated Road, Placentia Avenue, Yorba Linda Boulevard, Dorothy Lane and East Nutwood Avenue.
The early morning permit costs $50, allowing street parking in any city-controlled parking facility between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Residents who live on streets where signage already allows early morning parking do not require the permit.
Monday’s zone has already begun operating on the new schedule, which began on Sept. 8, 2025.
The Thursday zone will postpone citations until all Thursday-route signage has been updated accordingly. Weekly street sweeping will remain as normal.
Friday’s zone will have unchanged operations and enforcement, which remains on the current schedule.
Fullerton is divided into five zones that determine which day of the week streets in its neighborhoods will be swept.
The city requires a regular street sweeping schedule as part of its stormwater program.
The Fullerton Police Department Traffic Bureau is responsible for managing all traffic and parking-related matters in Fullerton. Citations are issued where signs are posted stating “No Parking for Street Sweeping.”
Street sweeping and parking enforcement are not performed on New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, with make-up sweeping occurring the following week.
