A San Francisco home where a family of four died in a murder-suicide last fall has been listed for sale, returning to the market just six months after the tragedy.
The three-bedroom, two-bath house at 930 Monterey Blvd., in the Westwood Highlands neighborhood, is listed for $1,499,950, according to Sotheby’s International Realty.
The 1,793-square-foot property sits on a corner lot and has recently been updated with refinished hardwood floors, fresh paint and new light fixtures.
The listing follows a devastating October incident in which four members of the same family were found dead inside the home.
Authorities later ruled the deaths a murder-suicide. Thomas Ocheltree, 57, and his daughters, ages 9 and 12, were fatally shot, while their mother, Paula Truong, 53, died by suicide.
A motive has not been publicly established, but the case drew attention to the family’s financial struggles in the years leading up to their deaths.
Public records show the couple purchased the home for $1.35 million in 2014. They later defaulted on a $2.24 million mortgage taken out in 2022, and the property was ultimately lost to foreclosure and sold at auction in 2024.
Comparable home sales in the surrounding Westwood Highlands and nearby neighborhoods suggest the asking price may reflect a discount.
Several three-bedroom homes with smaller footprints have sold for between $1.5 million and $1.75 million over the past year, while larger properties closer in size to the Monterey Boulevard house have fetched closer to $1.8 million or more, according to Realtor.com listings and San Francisco property records.
In California, sellers generally are not required to disclose a death on a property if it occurred more than three years earlier. Because the deaths at the Monterey Boulevard home occurred within the past year, the circumstances are likely to come up in discussions with prospective buyers.
A spokesperson for Sotheby’s International Realty did not respond to a request for comment.
