Good morning, baseball fans!
The San Francisco Giants kick off their 2026 season tomorrow, with Opening Day against the New York Yankees.
So this feels like the best time to get our last minute predictions in for how we think this season is going to go. I’ll let you determine what you would like to predict. Some options could be the team’s record, how individual players will do, who will be an All Star, who will be an unexpected star, etc.
As usual, I’ll go first. I’m going to try to stay slightly optimistic, perhaps more optimistic than I’ve been throughout the offseason thus far. I think the Giants will have a slightly above .500 record, and that they’ll be in the hunt for a wild card spot late into August. See, that is optimistic for me! I’ll even give them third place in the division, which I was extremely pessimistic on a couple of months ago.
Of course, I’d love to see them make the playoffs, but I can’t bring myself to predict that. One, because I don’t really think it’s in the cards. And two, if I did put that out into the universe, I would be cursing them. Baseball superstition is one hell of a thing.
Anyway, let’s hear your predictions for the 2026 season down in the comments!
