KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — In Kings County, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is investigating the murder of an inmate.
Officials say they found 72-year-old Earl Williams unresponsive in his cell on Friday.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died Monday morning.
28-year-old Ignacio Guzman has since been placed in restricted housing, pending an investigation, as it’s still unclear how Williams was killed.
Williams was serving a life sentence, while Guzman was sentenced to five years in prison in 2024.
