A local company is helping drivers in the Fresno area save time on their daily routines — or on the side of the road — with its gasoline delivery app.

GasUp, launched this January, offers gas delivery service within a 30-mile radius of Downtown Fresno.

The app allows customers to schedule premium or regular fuel deliveries straight to their vehicle, helping drivers avoid gas station lines, late night stops and time-consuming trips to the pump.

GasUp offers its services for a subscription of $39 a month, or a $13 fee for single deliveries. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

The service delivers directly to individuals, fleets and businesses. Customers include commuters, farms, construction crews and companies with vehicles and equipment.

GasUp operates Monday-Saturday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

GasUp was founded by Samantha Wallace Christensen and Billy Ezernack. Christensen runs a digital brand and marketing agency, Favour Foundry, and Ezernack is the owner of Double E Trucking in Kerman.

Christensen met Ezernack about a year ago, and the idea for a business was born. They got together and started developing the business plan.

“We hadn’t seen this service done anywhere in Fresno County. We had this idea of building something really similar to UberEats. Our app is intuitive and easy to use,” Christensen said.

GasUp currently has one delivery truck. Another is being built, she added.

The subscription model allows for unlimited fill-ups. GasUp charges per-gallon for the fuel on top of the monthly subscription, but Christensen said their rate is comparable to the lowest gas prices in the area. They currently have 175 monthly subscribers.

Christensen noted that a late-night stop for fuel at a gas station can be unsafe, particularly for women. GasUp is an answer to those concerns.

Christensen hopes to expand their coverage area and is currently looking into purchasing a diesel truck.

Their current delivery truck can hold up to 300 gallons of gas.

Christensen said they track fuel prices daily and remain at a competitive rate. Since GasUp buys in bulk, they are able to pass the benefit on to their customers, she added.

The target demographics are college students, business owners and moms, but it is really for anyone who has busy schedules or simply doesn’t like going to the gas station.

“We’ve gotten great feedback on service being there timely, clean and quick. If we are filling up an empty tank it takes less than five minutes,” Christensen said.

Customers can also purchase add-ons to fuel up their boats, generators and gas cans.

Monthly subscribers can have two vehicles on their account and can add more vehicles for $10 each.

As a locally operated business, Christensen said they have close ties to the community and give back.

“We are excited to get more subscribers and see how far we can take this. Hopefully one day expand up and down California, or beyond. But first and foremost, we want to make sure that we are taking care of our community here and giving everyone the best service possible,” she said.
