BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Arvin leaders marked what the mayor called a “proud and powerful moment” for the city with the unveiling of new solar energy panels that will power the city’s wastewater treatment plant.

Mayor Olivia Calderon said the solar plant will meet all of the facility’s power needs and will eliminate 360 metric tons of CO2 annually — the equivalent of taking 80 cars off the road.
