FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Fresno State lost 49-21 to a previously one-win Colorado State team, snapping the ‘Dogs five-game winning streak.
The Rams scored 21 unanswered points by the start of the second quarter, then grew their lead over the ‘Dogs, 35-14 by halftime. The Rams would not see the endzone until it sealed the victory with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
It’s Colorado State’s first win over Fresno State since 2019 and is the most points Fresno State has given up to an opponent since allowing 49 to New Mexico in 2020.
Quarterback EJ Warner threw three interceptions and coughed up a fumble while throwing for 350 yards and three touchdowns. He has now thrown nine interceptions in his senior campaign with the Bulldogs, tied for the most in FBS.
Senior wide receiver Josiah Freeman snagged two of Warner’s touchdowns in his seven catches for 89 yards.
The Bulldogs’ rushing offense, led by sophomore Brandon Ramirez, was held to 119 total yards and no touchdowns.
Fresno State gets a bye week to reset before its homecoming battle for the Oil Can against San Diego State at Valley Children’s Stadium on Oct. 25.
