Law enforcement officers responded Tuesday to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon outside a health center in Venice
Officers, including SWAT team members in at least three armored vehicles, were at the Chuck Lorre Rose Avenue Wellness Center after the 1 p.m. report of a suspect with gun. A standoff ensued before the man walked along the outside of the building toward officers, who appeared to use less-lethal weapons.
The man was taken into custody at about 3 p.m.. Details about his identity and what led to the report were not immediately available.
No injuries involving officers were reported.
