A man was detained after allegedly threatening his family, sparking a standoff with deputies in south Sacramento, officials said.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man was detained after a standoff with law enforcement in a south Sacramento neighborhood Saturday, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.Â
Deputies responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. about a man allegedly threatening to shoot family members. The man was believed to be armed and barricaded himself inside his home on the 8300 block of Daylight Court, officials said.Â
He was alone in the house after other family members living there had gotten out safely, according to officials.Â
Nearby homes were evacuated while others chose to shelter in place.Â
The sheriff’s office said the man surrendered peacefully and was detained without incident.Â
