FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash near Coalinga.
Just before 3 am Sunday, officers responded to a crash at Interstate 5 and Highway 33.
Officers say a 49-year-old man from Las Vegas was driving a Gray Nissan traveling south on I-5 when he veered off the road, hitting the back of a Toyota Prius, which was stopped on the right shoulder.
The impact caused the Nissan to spin out into the number one lane of the interstate, where it was hit by another vehicle.
The driver of the Nissan died at the scene.
No one else involved was injured.
