SAN DIEGO, CA — Detectives have determined that a death initially investigated as suspicious in the Redwood Village neighborhood was not a homicide, authorities said.
Police and fire-rescue personnel responded shortly after 4 p.m. March 19 to a 911 call in the 3800 block of Loma Alta Drive, where a woman reported finding her ex-husband unresponsive, not breathing and surrounded by blood, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Paramedics and officers arrived within minutes and pronounced the 46-year-old man dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were called in as a precaution due to the circumstances and took over the investigation.
Following a thorough review, investigators determined the death was not a homicide. The man’s name was not released.
