Susan A. Proost
OBITUARY
Susan Ann Proost passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 85, in San Jose, CA. Widow of Dan Proost, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage, they raised four children: Mike Proost (Stacy), Patty Evans (Tom), Nancy Proost, and Cathy Mee (Dermot). She is also survived by her brother Mike Cramer (Joe Kort). Sue was a devoted grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Joseph, Jack, Ellen, Tyler, Marissa, Ryan, Jake, Brianna, Haley, Milo, and Ella. She was preceded in death by her brother George Cramer.
Sue dedicated her life to teaching the Catholic faith as a Master Catechist, serving several parishes and leading Bible study groups until just a few weeks before her passing.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 31, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 2278 Booksin Avenue, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at https://share.google/HLOMAkDPk9BROkJRS. Please select “One time” and write “In memory of Sue Proost.”
