FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A locally-owned recycling company received a state grant of more than $4 million to improve recycling technology across the Central Valley.
With that money, Mid-Valley Recycle will be able to purchase six AI-powered robots to help sort recyclable materials from curbside and drop-off collection programs.
There’s also funding for a brand new commercial processing line that includes real-time data to monitor plant efficiency.
Last year, Mid-Valley Recycling processed more than 130,000 tons of material across Fresno, Merced, Madera, Kings and Tulare Counties.
