A patient set a fire inside the emergency room at a Sutter Health hospital in San Francisco’s Cathedral Hill neighborhood Thursday, authorities said.
Firefighters responded just after 6:30 a.m. to a report of a fire set by an emergency room patient at the California Pacific Medical Center Van Ness Campus on Franklin Street, the San Francisco Fire Department said.
Crews arrived to the hospital and found an extinguished fire contained to the bedding in one room, fire officials said.
“There is no impact to the hospital or the surrounding area at this time,” the fire department said on social media.
It was not immediately known if there were any injuries reported or how the patient set the fire.
