SHAVER LAKE, Calif. (KFSN) — New developments in the case of the missing Selma man, Ron Dailey.

The U.S. Forest Service is now opening up the area of the Garnett Fire to help expand the search.

“They created an opportunity today where people can fill out a form and just basically register with the US Forest Service. If they want to be out and search in areas that are affected by the Garnett fire that are typically closed,” says Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig.

Officials say Dailey went hunting in the mountains near Shaver Lake on October 13th. When he didn’t return home that night, his family contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

From boots on the ground to up in the sky, Magsig says the county, as well as community members, are doing all they can to bring Dailey home.

Dailey’s family says prayers and the overwhelming amount of support is getting them through this heartbreaking time.

“We want to find Ron. Our hopes and prayers are that he has been found alive, but we will move heaven and earth, so to speak, to find him.”

The family is optimistic, Dailey he is ok and will be home soon.

“He’s a strong man, he really is. He’s hunted that area for over 50 years and I know he’s trying to get out,” says his wife, Glenda Dailey.

The family says Dailey is diabetic and left home without his medication.

Dailey has kept his health under control for the last four to five months and the family hopes the lack of medication doesn’t hurt him while he’s out in the mountains.
