OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A crash has closed all of the westbound lanes of I-696 after Mound Road in Oakland County.
The crash occurred on Thursday (March 26) when police said a semi driver went through a median wall, causing severe damage and a large concrete section, affecting both westbound and eastbound traffic.
Police said the westbound side is shut down, ramping traffic off onto Mound Road.
Officials updated the crash information and said the eastbound lanes will also be shut down, ramping all traffic off to I-75.
Police said there was also a large oil spill from the crash as well and they are warning drivers that long delays are to be expected.
