Campspot, a North American campground booking platform, has given its 2026 campsite awards to several California campgrounds for setting the standard for exceptional camping through unique sleeping accommodations, access to trails and for its array of amenities.
The booking platform ranked campgrounds across a dozen categories, including Top Campgrounds for Glamping and Top Campgrounds in the U.S.
Whether you are looking for a views from your tent, cabin or RV, these California campgrounds will make a fun trip for all nature enthusiasts.
Here’s what to know:
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Tower Park in Lodi
The Lodi campground was ranked no. 3 for the Top Campground in the U.S. It also got the no. 3 honor in the Top Large Campgrounds category. Located along the California Delta, the Yogi Bear’s campground provides luxury cabin rentals, tent camping areas or RV sites.
The park has an expanded water park, snack stand, waterfront, dog park and hot tub for patrons to enjoy.
Patrons looking to rent lodging can expect to pay between $295 and $520 a night, as of Wednesday, March 25.
Tent camping areas are priced at $160 a night and RV sites range from $150 to $240 a night.
Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort & Campground in San Dimas
The San Dimas campground was ranked as the no. 5 Top Campground in the U.S., due to its excellence across amenities, guest experience and RV accommodations.
The campground is located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains and is 45 minutes east of Los Angeles. Patrons of the campground have access to showers, laundry, hiking trails and fishing options.
Campers can rent an RV site from $75 to $90 a night.
Sun Outdoors Paso Robles
The Paso Robles campground hit the no. 2 spot for Top Large Campground by Campspot for its spacious sites and full-service amenities. The resort is located in Paso Robles wine county and offers “awe-inspiring vistas” and a serene environment, according to Campspot.
The site is 30 minutes away from the Pacific Coast and offers an array of amenities including pools, a spa, fire pits, wellness center and dog parks.
For lodging, campers can expect to pay $300 to $355 a night.
RV sites are priced between $85 and $145 a night.
Casini Ranch Family Campground in Duncans Mills
The Duncans Mills campground took no. 5 for Top Unique Campground. Campspot highlighted the ranch’s creative accommodations and its many one-of-a-kind outdoor experiences including its ranch wagon accommodations, horse feeding and pet friendly cabins.
The 110-acre ranch is located near the Russian River and the Willow Creek State Park, making it accessible to canoeing and kayaking as well as fishing and hiking trails.
Tent sites are priced from $80 to $281 a night and RV sites are priced from $90 to $285 a night.
For those looking for accommodations for lodging, campers can expect to pay $105 to $356 a night depending on their preferences of accommodations.
Lake Cuyamaca Recreation and Park District
The Julian recreation and park area was ranked no. 5 for Top Campground for Tent Camping for its authentic and back-to-nature camping experiences. The site is near Lake Cuyamaca, known as the “jewel of the San Diego mountains,” according to Campspot.
The recreation and park district has many options for patrons to take part in including fishing, canoeing and kayaking.
People can reserve a cabin for between $103 and $308 a night.
Those looking for RV sites can expect to pay between $50 and $65 a night and for tent sites patrons will pay an average of $43 per night.
