FRIDAY –
In sports, the SAN DIEGO PADRES home opening series with the Detroit Tigers continues at Petco Park. They’ll play again Saturday.
All day you can watch the SAN DIEGO CREW CLASSIC at Crown Point in PB; a rowing regatta for all ages and levels, all weekend long.
The SAN DIEGO CLIPPERS hoop it up against Stockton at Frontwave Arena in OCEANSIDE, Saturday night, too.
For opera fans, CARMEN will be performed at the San Diego Civic Theatre DOWNTOWN all weekend. I’m guessing Timothee Chalamet won’t be there.
The DIGABLE PLANETS will be at the Belly Up Tavern in SOLANA BEACH Friday and Saturday, if you’re cool like that.
THE MAIN is at the Observatory in NORTH PARK.
SATURDAY –
When Rose Byrne won her Golden Globe a few months ago, she said her husband, actor Bobby Cannavale, wasn’t there because he was at a reptile show in New Jersey. Who knows if he’ll be in DEL MAR for the SAN DIEGO PET & REPTILE EXPO this weekend.
You can heat things up with MICROWAVE at the Observatory in NORTH PARK.
BOOTS ‘N BEATS are doing their country/electronica thing at the Music Box DOWNTOWN.
SUNDAY –
The SAN DIEGO SOCKERS will be kickin’ around the Comets at Frontwave Arena in OCEANSIDE.
If you’re into jazz, you can enjoy SUNDAY NIGHT JAZZ at Tio Leo’s in MISSION VALLEY.
If you’re a fan of the Blue Man Group and other percussion shows, there’s DRUM TAO at the POWAY Center for Performing Arts. It combines traditional Japanese taiko drumming with acrobatics and stunning visuals.
CLINT BLACK is back, at Harrah’s Resort in VALLEY CENTER.
ON STREAMING…
DAREDEVILl: BORN AGAIN is back with Season 2 on Disney+.
FOR ALL MANKIND (season 5) is back with its alternative history of the space race on AppleTV+. So you can get your fill of space drama on either TV or at the movies.
AT THE MOVIES –
PROJECT HAIL MARY came out last week and I gave it 3 ½ stars out of 5. It’s a great movie for the whole family (you can read my whole review in last week’s column). It’s making a killing at the box office, and has high reviews from critics and fans alike. It’s a must-see in the theaters.
