A driver crashed into a building in San Francisco’s Chinatown on Friday, seriously injuring two pedestrians, authorities said.

The driver crashed into a building on the 600 block of Jackson Street just before 7:45 a.m., according to the San Francisco Fire Department, which responded to the crash.

As a result of the crash, two pedestrians were injured. One pedestrian was in critical condition and another in serious condition as of Friday morning, fire officials said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the driver to crash into the building. The driver’s condition and identity was also not immediately known.

Building inspectors were on scene to assess the damage to the building, officials said.
