SAN DIEGO – Brown women’s water polo was defeated 12-5 by No. 17 San Diego State at the Aztec Aquaplex on Friday night (March 27).

Madeliene Poissonnier scored two goals for the Bears to lead the way. Aubrie Anderson, Sofia Flierl and Megan Newby each tallied one goal.

Somto Ofako finished the night with six saves and Ava Schoening picked up five.

Brown trailed 3-2 after the first quarter but San Diego State would shutout the Bears over the next two quarters to make the score 10-2 after three quarters.

The Bears would add three goals in the final period.

UP NEXT

Brown will finish its trip to California with two games on Saturday (March 28). The Bears will begin the day against No. 16 UC Davis (2 p.m. ET) and will close it out against No. 15 UC San Diego (7 p.m. ET).
