BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield High School football has its next head coach, and the Drillers didn’t have to look far to find him.
The Drillers welcome Cody Stone, an assistant coach who served under former BHS head coach Rashaan Shehee.
The coaching search began after Shehee announced he was stepping down in March 2026.
The response to the vacancy was well received, and the Drillers ultimately filled the position from within the program, selecting a coach already on campus and on Shehee’s staff.
