Cal Records First-Ever Win In Atlanta
In its final road match of the regular season, the California Golden Bears (13-10, 5-5) defeated No. 45 Georgia Tech (10-10, 2-8), 4-1, in Atlanta on Saturday morning.
To begin the day in Atlanta, the Bears gained the doubles point advantage after a decisive 6-1 victory from Alex Aney and Timofey Stepanov on court one. Then, on court two, Tiago Silva and Fryderyk Lechno Wasiutynski sealed the doubles point for the Bears with a come-from-behind 7-5 win.
With a 1-0 lead entering singles play, Cal added its second point after Timofey Stepanov came away with a straight-set win on court two. Then, on court one, Fryderyk Lechno Wasiutynski secured a three-set victory on court one to give Cal its third point. Finally, on court four, Bernardo Munk Mesa sealed the win for the Bears with a straight-set win.
