A man died Saturday in a vehicle collision in the Oakland hills, authorities said.
The single car crash occurred around 11:18 p.m. on the 4100 block of Redwood Road, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Initial reports indicate that the man was the only occupant of a Porsche and crashed into a light pole, authorities said. There were no witnesses of the collision.
The victim was identified as a 41-year-old man and a resident of Oakland, authorities said. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
