Two people were found dead on the second floor of a burning home in San Marcos as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire late Saturday night, authorities said.
Deputies arrived a few minutes after an 11:45 p.m. call to find a structure on Lacebark Street near Borden Road fully engulfed in flames, sheriff’s officials said.
After San Marcos firefighters discovered the bodies, fire department officials requested the sheriff’s bomb/arson unit investigate the cause and origin of the fire. Sheriff’s homicide detectives are also investigating.
The Medical Examiner’s Office will try to determine the identity of the individuals, along with the cause and manner of death. No other information was released.
